Life doesn’t frighten me. Michelle Elie wears Comme des Garçons Hero

Comme des Garçons defies the norm, stands out, and often provokes. Comme des Garçons stands for fashion that breaks conventional rules, fashion that is unexpected and playful. The pieces by Japanese fashion designer Rei Kawakubo challenge how we are used to seeing clothes. She works with puffed-up, colorful fabrics, knots, and garments that extend beyond the body. Fashion icon Michelle Elie loves, collects, and lives Kawakubo's designs. The DDC workshop now offered deeper insight into the world of Comme des Garçons and Elie. With impressive charm, Elie personally guided us through the exhibition and shared the anecdotes and stories she has with each piece: from the moment of discovery, through acquisition, to wearing them on her own body and the wide range of reactions they provoke in others.

We would like to thank Michelle Elie for these very personal insights and the DDC for organizing the event.
