Meet Anna

Dürfen wir vorstellen? Hero

Anna is supporting us as an intern. Particularly interesting - as an architect, she brings fresh input to the team, and we wanted to learn more. So today we asked Anna:

To start, three sentences about yourself.
Hi, I'm Anna! A very spontaneous, funny person with a special fondness for interior design. Nice to meet you!

Architecture and design - closely related and yet completely different. What appeals to you about design agency work as an architect?
I'm drawn to the direct communication and the endless possibilities for creativity, which are not constrained by laws and building regulations.

Which building would you have liked to design, and why?
At the beginning of my studies, I was asked whether, like Ted Mosby, I dreamed of putting a skyscraper on the New York skyline, or, in my case, Frankfurt. And I answered no with a smile. Even then, I wasn't interested in planting huge buildings in the world. My dream is to design a sustainable, self-sufficient housing development in Kenya someday.

What was the decisive moment for you to say: architecture no thanks, hello design?
I have not completely turned my back on architecture. Still, now is the time for change and for discovering a new professional direction. Since I have always been interested in design during my studies and in my private life, but never dared to break off my architecture degree at MSA and continue my path with the designers at MSD next door, I am now taking that step, and here I am.

What inspires you, and how does design influence the way you see things?
My surroundings. Shapes, colors, people - everything that has form and color, and the desire to think outside the box.

Your strategy in the evening to wind down after a long day at work?
My plan is to go home first, eat, and then motivate myself to work out. Whether it's the gym, jogging, or home workouts. There I can push myself one last time and really get moving again after a long workday.
