Welcome, Nik!

As part of his studies, Nik is now supporting us as a working student, and we warmly welcome him!
Where do you study, and why did you choose to study design?
I study at HMKW in Frankfurt. Until 13th grade, I didn't know where the professional world would take me. Then my sister asked why I wasn't finally using my love of art and design to study graphic design. And now I'm here.
What, in your opinion, is good design and what is bad design?
I always find that hard to define, because design is so broad. What matters is that the instinct feels right and that you stand behind your work and can explain why you made it.
"Less is more" or "less is bore"?
Actually, that's a question that has followed me ever since I developed a preference for reduced design. You often think about it, because the line between a recognizable signature and losing the surprise effect is quite thin. My design is meant to support, so "Less is more".
Who are your personal style icons?
Without a second thought: Dieter Rams.
Good design is as little design as possible.
What are the biggest challenges in a creative person's everyday life?
Definitely going shopping without wanting to redesign every label or every package.
Here's your chance to praise your favorite series?
Right now, I can only recommend "QE" on Netflix. It's the perfect series for fans of fashion, lifestyle, architecture, and makeovers.
And one more book?
For people who like thrillers and can't get enough after finishing a book, the Ethan Cross series is exactly the right choice.
