Welcome Waldemar

As part of his design studies, Waldemar is completing a five-month internship. We give him a warm welcome and introduce him to you in the interview below.
Where do you study and why did you choose to study design?
I study communication design at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. I chose the subject because I want a profession that makes it worth getting out of bed in the morning. Since I have been drawing and taking photographs since childhood, it was only natural to go into a creative field. In addition, I was always hopeless at scientific subjects like mathematics or physics. So I had little choice.
Where does your creative passion lie, and what inspires you?
I do not really want to commit myself. I would say I already have a certain style, but I think one should never stop working on it or questioning it, and if necessary throw it completely overboard in order to reinvent oneself.
How do you deal with creative blocks?
Continuous work, long periods of rest on weekends, and I also draw inspiration from music and weekend events.
Do you have role models, and if so, which ones?
A lot of them, and they seem to change every year. But when I look at the design field, it is probably Stefan Sagmeister and Jessica Walsh. They create wonderful things. Large interactive exhibitions, films, books - all of which, in my view, always have a certain something and are unlike anything else you see anywhere else.
How did you hear about Quandel Staudt and why did you choose us?
I had been looking for an internship since September and found you while researching suitable design agencies. I wanted to come to you because I felt I would not get lost here, as so often happens at larger agencies, but would learn a great deal and get off to a good start with the team.
