What excites you most about your profession?

Definitely animation! That’s what I’m really passionate about. I love it when an idea suddenly starts moving, something comes to life and, in the end, you think: “Yeees! That’s exactly it!” I’m especially excited about my work when I’m given the freedom I need and trusted to do my thing. I love developing ideas, trying things out and letting my creativity run free. When every last detail isn’t dictated to me and I can work out for myself how something works best, I think that’s often when the most exciting results emerge. And that’s exactly what makes the process so rewarding for me: having an idea in my head, trying it out, developing it further and eventually seeing how it actually works. When I can put all my creativity into it, I’m completely in my element.

Where do your ideas come from?

My ideas often come to me when something really excites me – because it’s brilliantly thought out, surprising or simply so damn well done that I think: “Wow, I wish I’d thought of that myself!” I store those things somewhere in the back of my mind – and eventually the right moment comes along for an idea of my own to emerge.

What trends are you seeing right now?

AI. For me, it’s currently more than just a trend – it’s a tool that’s changing creative work in a lasting way. It’s a real help, especially when it comes to efficiency, because many steps can be completed much faster, leaving more time for the creative work itself.

The app you would never delete?

Kleinanzeigen and WarnWetter. 😄 I almost always check Kleinanzeigen first before buying something new. In a world where overproduction and consumption not only lead us to surround ourselves with more and more things, but also use up valuable resources and put a strain on our planet, I think it makes sense to give existing things a second life. And as someone who loves the outdoors and cycles every day, WarnWetter is indispensable, of course – after all, I need to know whether I’ll arrive at my destination dry.

What does your heart beat for?

Bicycles and cycling. I love everything about it – the movement, the freedom and the fact that it’s such a great way to get around a city. I wish Frankfurt would become much more bike-friendly and that we would give cars significantly less space. A car-free city would be a pretty big dream of mine.
