Senior Art Director
Isabell was born in Frankfurt in 1985 and studied communication design at Hochschule Darmstadt. She has been part of our team since June 2018.

What excites you most about your profession?
The creative work and the design freedom. Most of the time I can implement many of my ideas, or at least bring them in optimized after feedback rounds. As the title of my profession, communication designer, already suggests, it is about making ideas visible in the way best suited to the idea itself. That is often not an easy task, requires thinking across interfaces and challenges me every day. I like using a wide range of programs. For classic editorial design, of course, I use different programs than for animations, presentations and films. I get excited when the results of these interfaces work and I can say: Now it all comes together.
Where do your ideas come from?
It varies a lot. Usually I have a sentence, fragments of words or rough images in my head, which I write down, sketch and then develop further. I also like using brochures, flyers, magazines or simply things I like. When I am out and about and see something exciting, I take it with me and use it in those moments.
What trends are you seeing right now?
In fashion: ugly sneakers and, actually, flared trousers.
In technology: fortunately, more and more really good websites, especially responsive ones optimized for all screen sizes. Digital networking and finding information quickly are very important right now and will remain important in times of media overload.
The app you would never delete?
Weather - so I know whether I will be cold.
What does your heart beat for?
Bicycles and cycling. I love this topic. I also ride my bike to the office every day. So dear bicycle companies: send us your design briefs.
What should you definitely do in Frankfurt?
Enjoy Grune Sosse, Handkas and Appler.
