User Experience DesignUser Interface Design

User experience design is rooted in digital product development and focuses on how a product is experienced. It is central to apps, websites and other digital applications, but the same principles can also inform analogue media. When we consider usability, clarity and perception from the start, we create more pleasant experiences and a stronger connection to the brand.

Developed for you

Knowing the target audience for your own project is essential: Who are these people? How do they think, feel and act? In workshops, we can narrow this down together.

User journey

With the user journey, our user experience designers define the experiential flow of the medium: which individual steps make up the journey, and which options are offered when and how? This journey must be engaging and intuitive, so all users reach their goal safely and with a good feeling.

Tactile humor in the user interface

Even seemingly dry and formal processes, such as filling out an online form, can become an entertaining experience with good user experience design and contribute positively to the company or brand. The key is direct feedback on an action: a wrongly clicked button that shakes its head after being pressed lets frustration over an input error rise less quickly than a standard error message as an overlay, which users also have to close with an additional click.

Welcome on board

There is great potential in online registration in particular, and user experience designers need to make use of it. The task is to find the most elegant possible way to bring a new potential user on board while asking for a certain amount of information without being annoying or boring. In the worst case, either would lead to abandonment. Instead, the onboarding process should entertain while exchanging basic information, much like a real conversation. That is how conversion succeeds.

UX design tip: let images speak

Images and icons are perfect building blocks for reducing communication barriers and improving the user experience. Images are understood faster than pure text, and depending on their complexity, they can work across language and cultural boundaries and be understood by small children who cannot yet read. But be careful: here too, it is important to know the target audience's world of experience. A floppy disk symbol for the save button in an app for children is more likely to raise questions for mom and dad. How should they know such an ancient relic?

Gamification Feature / User Experience Design / App-Design - Vaamo

Gamification elements

These are a more sophisticated form of user experience in an app or website. We overcome our inner resistance more easily when we receive a reward or experience things playfully: in fitness apps, learning platforms, fintech products or product configurators. What is fun is defined by the target audience. Navigation in the form of a remote-controlled car that can be steered with the mouse may be great fun, keep users on the page for a long time and leave a positive feeling, provided it is the website of a game developer. For an insurance company or bank, where users seek trust and security, different solutions are needed.
