Double M, Twice as GoodMaria & Marie
Maria and Marie are our interns for the summer semester. As students from Offenbach and Wiesbaden, they support our design team and bring fresh perspectives to our day-to-day work.
Although their names are easily confused, the two could hardly be more different: from club TikToks to walking cats, together they bring a wide range of creative ideas, perspectives and approaches to design.

Here, they explain what design means to them and why they are so passionate about their future profession.
Design that makes you stop and look
I am particularly drawn to designs that surprise me at first glance or disrupt the familiar. That brief moment of pause is when design becomes exciting for me. Often, it is small details, contrasts or something unexpected that creates precisely that moment. I am interested in using design in a way that does not simply pass by, but deliberately captures attention.
Imperfection as a design device
I find it exciting when design does not have to be perfect. Glitches, small irregularities or deliberately restless elements often make things more interesting to me than smooth, flawless surfaces.
By contrast, much of what AI creates today looks very neat and error-free – sometimes almost too perfect.
It is precisely the imperfection that feels real to me. It seems more human, more tangible, and gives design greater character and tension.
