A new hub in the town of Herdorf - H-Plus Carré

The H-Plus Carré is a new building ensemble on the site of the former Friedrichshütte in Herdorf. It forms a new commercial center and, with the integrated historic Hüttenhaus Theater, a cultural hub in the southern Siegerland region.
Our task was to create the naming, logo, and corporate design for the ensemble. We also supported the launch campaign from a communications standpoint. The signage for various building volumes and special themed walls in the specialist retail stores were also part of the overall brief.


We want to bring the history of this place to life

The area's rich history and its sense of place, the genius loci, inspired a wide range of ideas aimed at making that history tangible again through the new ensemble. Interactive steles are planned throughout the site, opening up an augmented-reality experience. When visitors scan the QR codes on the steles, the former ironworks scene appears before their eyes or on the viewer's smartphone. In combination with themed walls in various retail spaces, which recall the former extraction and smelting of iron ore at this location, visitors to this new specialist retail and cultural center gain a vivid insight into the town's past and, by extension, the history of the entire Siegerland region.
