For the Society for Music Theory, we were responsible for their annual congress (theme: “Models”) at the renowned Mozarteum University Salzburg. This resulted in a wide range of different media that gave the congress a distinctive face in the run-up to and throughout the event days. For an event of this kind, that identity has to stand out clearly from a wide range of other offerings. We achieved this through a rich color palette paired with a series of abstract associative motifs that visualize the theme.

An additional key requirement was that the design elements used had to translate across a wide range of media without losing their distinctiveness. In addition to posters, flyers, roll-ups, break-screen displays, letterhead templates and web banners, we also created a welcome pack for congress participants. A cotton bag, filled with a folder containing the program booklets, a name badge with lanyard, a ballpoint pen and pins for wearing, awaited accredited visitors. We also use digital media whenever possible, for example projected visuals during the breaks between individual talks. This form of branding not only conserves resources, but also opens up exciting possibilities for motion graphics and even interaction. We are delighted to have helped shape three exciting days at the Mozarteum.
